EASTER - What we celebrate and Why

The Gospel, the Good News is that Jesus Christ died for our sins, he was buried and he was raised on the third day. By this Gospel, we are saved. This means that our sins are forgiven, we are made righteous with God and we have eternal life.

Plainly, this determines what happens to us when we die.

If we accept Jesus, God’s son and what he did for us, we are saved. We have eternal life.

Jesus was punished that we might be forgiven:

“Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows…He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5
